Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is a quiet village located at the intersection of the Oesling and Gutland regions in the north-east of the country. The municipality of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is made up of three localities: Erpeldange/Sûre, Ingeldorf and Burden.

The municipality belongs to the canton of Diekirch and is an integral part of the urban area called ‘Nordstad’, which consists of the municipalities Bettendorf, Colmar-Berg, Diekirch, Ettelbruck and Schieren. This region is considered the third centre of development in the Grand Duchy, alongside the cities of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette.

In the centre of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, there are several small shops and restaurants. In Ingeldorf (9 minutes by car) there are several large supermarkets, clothes shops, a pharmacy, electrical goods and furniture shops, as well as various car workshops. In Diekirch (6 minutes by car), you will find a wide variety of restaurants and cafés, as well as a cinema. The Centre Hospitalier du Nord in Ettelbruck is only 8 minutes away by car.

Erpeldange-sur-Sûre offers a number of sporting activities. The town has a sports and cultural centre, a football pitch and a tennis court. At the fishing pond ‘Étang de Mechelsbach’, you can spend a relaxing day fishing. There is also a small restaurant.

The castle of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre was built in the 12th century as a water castle. The castle was temporarily used as a church, today it houses the municipal administration.

The region around Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is a paradise for hikers. A total of 34 hiking trails and 16 cycle paths criss-cross the region, inviting you to explore it.

Direct access to the A7 Route du Nord motorway means that Kirchberg can be reached in just 30 minutes. The towns of Ettelbruck and Diekirch are only 10 and 6 minutes away by car respectively.

Mobility
The Nordstadbus was created to develop mobility between the municipalities of the ‘Nordstad’. From Colmar-Berg to Moestroff via Warken and Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, two bus routes run regularly between the south and north of the ‘Nordstad’. Route 512 runs from Moestroff to Warken via Bettendorf, Gilsdorf, Diekirch, Ingeldorf and Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.

The ‘Beim Schlass’ and ‘An der Gewan’ bus stops are in the immediate vicinity and are served by bus lines 518, 543, 550 and 552 at approximately 60-minute intervals.

The nearest station is in Ettelbruck (about 1.5 km from the residence) and is served by line 10 of the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL), which connects the city of Luxembourg to Troisvierges.
